Trees and Leaves
الشجر والورق
In the Quran
۞ وَعِندَهُۥ مَفَاتِحُ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ لَا يَعۡلَمُهَآ إِلَّا هُوَۚ وَيَعۡلَمُ مَا فِي ٱلۡبَرِّ وَٱلۡبَحۡرِۚ وَمَا تَسۡقُطُ مِن وَرَقَةٍ إِلَّا يَعۡلَمُهَا وَلَا حَبَّةٖ فِي ظُلُمَٰتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَا رَطۡبٖ وَلَا يَابِسٍ إِلَّا فِي كِتَٰبٖ مُّبِينٖ ٥٩ “And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. And He knows what is on the land and in the sea. Not a leaf falls but that He knows it. And no grain is there within the darknesses of the earth and no moist or dry [thing] but that it is [written] in a clear record”

No leaf falls in the deserts and open country, or in the cities and villages, but Allah knows it. (Researcher's paraphrase of al-Tabari.)

Explanation (not Quran text)
The Quran says that no leaf falls without Allah knowing it (6:59): even the smallest event in nature is within His knowledge. It compares a good word to a good tree, firmly rooted, its branches reaching into the sky, giving fruit in every season by its Lord's permission (14:24–25). And the Prophet ﷺ said that when a Muslim plants a tree or sows a crop and a bird, a person or an animal eats from it, it counts as charity for him (al-Bukhari 2320).
